We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Transportation Engineer for our Jacksonville, FL office who will perform supporting engineering assignments for planning, project development, design and plan development tasks for small and large scale transportation related projects. Interacting with staff with a variety of backgrounds and specialization will be a significant aspect to this position. Good communication skills, both written and oral, are essential. This position falls within our Transportation & Community Development division based in our Jacksonville, Florida office. Our Transportation Group in Florida is a fast growing program and serves the firm by providing engineering and planning expertise to our clients in city, state, federal and commercial projects worldwide. The appropriately qualified candidate will be able to demonstrate an established career in Transportation Engineering, including experience specific to Roadway Engineering.
Qualified candidates should possess a Bachelors Degree in an accredited Transportation/Civil Engineering program and should have their Professional Engineering license at a minimum with 5 years of experience. Hands-on experience with the highway design software, GEOPAK (InRoads a plus), proficiency with CADD environment for producing contract drawings such as Microstation Version V8i and experience with water resources (highway drainage, stormwater management, and/or H&H). The position will including working closely with the American Association of State Highway Transportation Officials (AASTHO) Geometric Policy Design Manual (“Green Book”), FDOT Design Policy Manual, and FDOT Plans Preparation Manual (PPM). Familiarity with Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) standards is a must.
