GIS Project Manager

Job Responsibilities:

Reporting to the GIS Program Manager, the GIS Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the development, maintenance and expansion of national GIS datasets and spatial analysis for federal and private clients. This will include field surveys, data and database development and management, development and recommendations of mapping software and products, and design and development of high-quality analytical mapping products. This position will also be responsible for project coordination and related communication with federal and private clients. This position will assist in the development of organization-wide GIS standards and policies. Activities will include project management, multi-discipline team GIS task level management, data analysis, strategic and GIS implementation planning, data modeling, and GIS consulting.

Ideal candidates have a good understanding of computer hardware and software programs, plus coding, programming and development capabilities. A solid understanding of project scheduling and execution, GIS use, principles, data standards, and projections is expected including proven skill in utilizing GIS software, especially the ESRI ArcGIS Desktop Product Suite (ArcMap, ArcCatalog, ArcGIS Pro and relevant software extensions) and ArcGIS Enterprise/ArcGIS Online is expected. Experience utilizing automation programming and expression computer languages (Python/Arcade/SQL Etc.), Model building and application development, as well as proven skill in utilization of SQL databases, database management and maintenance are a plus. Superior verbal and written communication skills are required along with a high level of attention to detail. 

Job Qualifications:

Pond & Company is looking for GIS Project Manager with a minimum bachelor’s degree in Geography, Planning or Engineering related field as well as 7-10 years of professional experience consulting, managing and coordinating GIS projects for varied clients. Candidates possessing a Master's degree in geography, planning or an engineering related field, or professional accreditations may substitute for 5-7 years of experience. GISCI Certified GIS Professional (GISP) is considered a plus.

All candidates are required to have the ability to pass a security / background check and security clearance investigation. This position will require a U.S. Passport and the ability to travel overseas as needed.
