About the Position

We are seeking an Environmental Scientist II/III to join our growing Environmental Services team in Jacksonville, Florida. Well qualified candidates located in other parts of the state will be considered on a case-by-case basis. The ideal candidate possesses 3-10 years of experience serving as an environmental consultant and/ or environmental regulatory agent, preferably with experience in renewable energy, oil & gas, FDOT, or federal projects. The successful candidate would serve as a task manager for environmental field studies (e.g. wetland delineations and functional assessments, threatened and endangered species surveys, etc.) and document production (e.g. technical reports, permit applications, etc.). The successful candidate would also interface with clients and support proposal development.

About Our Team

Our team of environmental professionals includes biologists, ecologists, regulatory specialists, engineers, planners, GIS analysts, and community engagement specialists. Our environmental team is engaged in projects throughout the southeast, the nation, and the world. Our existing environmental client base includes transportation, oil and gas, renewables, government (local, state, and federal), Department of Defense, private development, and water resources and restoration. The successful candidate would be an integral part of our growing team and would engage across markets and geographies.

Job Qualifications:

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Task management
  • Ecological feasibility studies and fatal-flaw analyses
  • Leading jurisdictional wetland/ water delineations
  • Wetland functional assessments
  • Protected species habitat assessments and surveys
  • Mitigation planning
  • Federal/ state/ local permitting
  • Construction/ compliance oversight
  • Managing schedules and environmental special studies including sub-consultant partners
  • Coordination with interdisciplinary teams of designers and environmental SMEs for various infrastructure projects
  • Managing project teams, proposals, budgets, and schedules 


  • BS in relevant environmental discipline
  • 3 to 10 years of experience
  • Must have a working knowledge of wetland science, flora/fauna and ecosystems of Florida 
  • Proficient with GIS and mapping
  • Physically able to travel and conduct field work on various project sites and meet with clients and occasionally assist in our other Florida office locations
  • Strong QA/QC skills and ability to deliver complete and clean documents
  • Active in appropriate professional societies
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills
  • Willingness to travel as projects require
  • Ability and desire to manage and mentor junior staff

Certified Florida Stormwater Erosion and Sediment Control Inspector

Authorized Gopher Tortoise Agent

Experience with Phase I Environmental Site Assessments
