Job Responsibilities:

We are currently in need of a Civil Engineer with at least 4 years of experience. This position will work in our Civil Engineering Group which serves the firm by providing engineering and planning expertise to our clients in city, state, federal and commercial projects worldwide. This position will work closely with the other Community Development staff of engineers and landscape architects to design varied site development projects throughout the southeast. Projects will include primarily private residential/commercial site development design, park/greenway site development design, and infrastructure design and new development projects with City, County, and State government agencies. 



Job Qualifications:

This position requires around 4-6 years’ experience as a civil engineer in a consulting environment. An accredited degree in civil engineering is required, and Professional Engineer (PE) registration preferred. Requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, verbal and written communication skills, ability to work with people, and strong presentation skills. Experience with commercial and/or municipal site development projects in the Atlanta area is desired, with the ability to develop civil construction plans and specifications. The candidate should be an energetic self-starter, comfortable with working self-sufficiently, and comfortable with communicating independently with clients and permitting jurisdictions.


Additional Experience Requirements

  • The following engineering experience is desired: design of initial site layouts, including building placement, vehicular and pedestrian access, parking lots, etc.; design of site grading plans including cut/fill calculations; design of full erosion, sedimentation, and pollution control plans; design of stormwater management systems and water quality best management practices; design of sanitary sewerage systems, including pump stations and force mains; design of water mains; etc.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are needed, and a demonstrated ability to coordinate meetings, conduct effective client presentations, and prepare written reports to a high standard.
  • This position requires a current valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • LEED AP, or experience in LEED-based design, and/or PMP certification are a plus.
  • AutoCAD, Hydraflow, Newforma, MS Office & Deltek Vision experience preferred.
  • Experience with supervision and mentoring of junior staff preferred
